Before and After

BEFORE it was a drawing, AFTER it becomes a stamp.

Eraser stamp is fun!

With an eraser and a cutter (better be 30 degree), it's easy to carve stamps of your own! I made some last weekend, all with patterns of plants. Eraser for carving can be found in fine art shops in Taiwan. They are harder and bigger than normal erasers. You can also make stamps with a normal eraser, it's soft and easier to carve, but leaves much powder(? well, the small pieces anyway).

Like a Chinese Painting

I just took some pictures of Gloxania with my digital camera. Surprisingly, the result is pretty like a Chinese painting.

2 illustrations

I finished 2 illustrations for my another blog. "french Patisserie" shows my favorite French desserts, the other is “Sanbano! Mongolia“ with my dreaming Mongolian landscape. Both are done with Illustrator. Very simple works achieved in a very short time.(Sanbano means "how are you?" in English)

Why I like Gloxania

Gloxania is composed with big, green, velours-like leaves and these big red, deep purple or light pink flowers. It is the most pretentiousless flower I have ever seen. It just shows you what it got without fear. The most important thing is: it is easy to take care of!

All begins from a crochet flower

Recently my leisure time is mostly spent on crochet lace. Unlike the crochet lace in the 70s, what I make is called "Irish crochet lace". The technic is originally from Italy, then spreaded to the public by Irish nuns during the middle of 19th century. The motifs are base on the plants and flowers, and the works are more reliefing due to the multi-layer crochet technic. The flowers and leaves can also be patched one by one, which gives the creator more flexibility while making clothing. I' m woking on a complex piece with the crochet flowers. It still needs some time to finish!

Vegetation in Kuala Lumpur

Kula Lumpur is like a big jungle. Streets are covered by the amazing tropical vegetation. I believe the trees must look forward to being bathed by the shower every afternoon.
